Coordinator of Mission Advancement


Neighbor to Neighbor, Inc. (N2N), a nonprofit organization working with refugees, asylum seekers, and other immigrant populations in South Bend, Indiana, is seeking a half-time coordinator of mission advancement to expand the organization’s reach and ability to serve immigrant populations in the greater South Bend region. Salary commensurate with education and experience (with a minimum starting salary of $20,000). The successful candidate will report directly to the Executive Director of N2N.

Core Responsibilities

  • Lead efforts for grant prospecting, writing, and reporting and maintain grant calendar
  • Maintain donor/supporter database (currently using Little Green Light) and track and respond to donations
  • Plan and execute special events, including collaborations with community partners, donor appreciation/stewardship opportunities, and annual fundraisers
  • Develop and execute online giving campaigns and direct mail appeals
  • Cultivate major donors to build a major gifts program, including securing one-on-one meetings with individuals and potential corporate sponsors
  • Participate in N2N’s communication efforts, such as press releases and other public relations communications, and assist in the development and implementation of systems to increase N2N’s positive visibility

Additional Responsibilities

  • Contribute to N2N’s thoughtful and sustainable growth by assisting in the design and implementation of systems that increase the effectiveness and efficacy of our mission
  • Participate in managing attendance and program evaluation records and coordinate the use of data analysis for learning, improvement, and storytelling
  • Assist with general duties as arise in conversations with executive director and staff

Qualifications and Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree or its equivalent
  • Proficiency in English-language speaking and writing
  • Commitment to N2N’s mission
  • Residence in (or willingness to relocate to) the South Bend area
  • Proficiency in (or ability to learn) Google Suite
  • Training or experience in fundraising, grant writing, or advancement
  • Experience with immigration or nonprofit work (preferred)
